For the past seven months, Brandon Brown, a full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series driver and small-team owner, has been the epicenter of controversy not of his making. You know this one.

At the start of the 2022 racing season, Brown struggled to secure sponsorship for his No. 68 Chevrolet after a whirlwind of divisiveness sparked by a new political rallying cry diverted sponsors from his successful racing team. Just like that, he and his employees were back to square one, and they’ve been rebuilding ever since.

But you probably already knew that.

What you might not know is that the seven-year veteran of NASCAR racing is the mind behind his own marketing plan and, unlike many race drivers, a college graduate with a bachelor’s degree in communications. from Coastal Carolina University.
