YSU TO HOST ENGINEERING SUMMER CAMPS: Learning to operate a robot and use a 3D printer are among the topics that will be covered at the STEM summer camp for junior engineers at Youngstown State University .
The camp, hosted by the YSU Division of Workforce Development and Innovation, is designed for students ages 9-14 and will take place over three rounds at the Center for Excellence Training on campus. YSU: June 12-17, July 13-17, and July. 18-22.
Students will learn about additive manufacturing, how to use a 3D printer, how to design solutions using CAD software, robots and cobots, how to connect robots to computers, and how to upload computer code to a robot . The last day of camp includes a visit to the OH WOW! Museum in downtown Youngstown.

NEW SHOW PREMIERS: Neighborhood channel Armstrong, which offers all locally produced shows, will premiere a new show called Artist Impact on May 30.
The show will air on the 100 neighborhood channel, YouTube and the podcast version on most major podcast providers.
Artist Impact will feature musicians, bands, music artists, and songwriters with SounDoctrine’s Jere B hosting.
Each episode will feature two musical artists submitting a video track. Panelists watch and listen to the track, then give their reviews and views together with the artist. It gives music artists a chance to create their music and videos for everyone to enjoy and get real advice from music industry professionals. All types of musicians can participate.
CHAMBER TO HOST DEI EVENT: The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will host a diversity, equity and inclusion matchmaking event on June 28 at the Stambaugh Auditorium as part of its Lunch and Learn Series in partnership with the Youngstown Foundation.
The event will connect various businesses with supply chain and supply chain opportunities, as well as local and national resources to help them grow. Participants include major organizations, such as Ultium Cells, Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission and Vallourec Star, and service providers such as the Minority Business Assistance Center, Huntington Bank and the Ohio Development Services Agency.
Youngstown native Derek Penn, who sits on Charles Schwab’s board of directors and recently wrote “Diary of a Black Man on Wall Street”, will deliver an opening address.
Check-in and breakfast is at 8:30 am. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

CANDY STORE COMES TO THE MALL: A grand opening for Shelby’s Sugar Shop at the Southern Park Mall took place on Saturday.
The store offers chocolates, assorted candies, specialty sodas, gifts and over 20 flavors of ice cream in a cone or bowl. The store is located in the central courtyard of the mall.

CHAMBER HOSTS DIRECTOR: The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber recently appointed Lyle Huffman as Director of Government Affairs.
In this position, Huffman will develop and implement an annual action plan advancing public policy that promotes the economic prosperity of chamber members and the quality of life of the Mahoning Valley; serve as a liaison between chamber members and local, state, and federal governments; develop content, agendas and sponsorships for government affairs events; and advocate in Columbus and Washington, DC, on behalf of Regional Chamber members and the business community.
Huffman, of Howland, spent nearly 10 years as the director of public services and community development/assistant city manager of Greenville, Pennsylvania.
iSYNERGY ADDS LOCAL TALENT: iSynergy, a digital marketing agency, has added Lauren Moliterno as editor.
Moliterno most recently served as Training and Communications Coordinator at TTM Technologies in North Jackson. She was responsible for implementing training programs for a workforce of approximately 200 people.
The Boardman native graduated from Ohio State University, where she majored in English and creative writing. She also trained at the prestigious Second City Training Center in Chicago and performed improv comedy at the Del Close Marathon in New York.
PREMIER PROMOTE: Premier Bank has promoted W. Todd Booth to Vice President, Senior Portfolio Manager.
