Pre-race quotes from Austin Wayne Self:

At Charlotte Motor Speedway: “Charlotte Motor Speedway is one of the most demanding intermediate race tracks we compete on. It’s very fast with a unique layout, but it also offers great racing for fans. Handling is key for Charlotte, as is momentum, especially over bumps.

“We bring our truck from Kansas which showed a lot of speed even though we didn’t get the finish we were hoping for. Hopefully Friday night our season continues to pick up with a strong finish with our #22 AM Technical Solutions | GB TEXAN Chevrolet Silverado RST.

On the 2022 season: “After more than a month of sour finishes for our AM Racing team, we were able to fight back and crack the top 20 at Texas Motor Speedway. Top 10 or better efforts, but I felt like we had at least stopped the bleeding from what has been a frustrating series of races.

“Hopefully we can build on our arrival in Texas with an even better result in Charlotte on Friday night.”
